What is the Course About?
Edexcel BTEC Level 2 Extended Certificate is a specialist qualification that focuses on particular aspects of employment within the appropriate vocational sector. The Extended Certificate offers flexibility and choice through optional units. This is equivalent to 2 GCSEs. Students will also study GCSE English and Maths. The course overall is equivalent to 4 GCSEs.

What are the entry Requirements?
4 GCSEs at grade D including English and Maths plus a satisfactory Record of Achievement. Mature students without formal qualifications may be eligible, this will be decided after interview.
Before applicants are accepted on to the course, they must attend an interview with a member of the programme team.

How will I be assessed?
GCSEs - via a series of examinations similar to those you have taken previously.
BTEC assessment is by a range of methods including assignments and short written tests.
